In April of 1977, after many years working for the Jewel Box Corp., Roy Truitt bought out Galax Jewelry Co. on North Main Street in Downtown Galax and thus began the history of Roy's Diamond Center.

In 1981, Roy's moved from North Main to South Main into the Lineberry's Jewelry location and remained there for 27 years.

In December 2008, Roy's moved one door down into a newly restored and renovated historic building which was the former home to Henderson Jewelers.

Roy's Diamond Center began as and remains a family-owned and operated jewelry store with Roy, his wife Shirley, son Tony, and daughter Sandra all actively involved with the store. You might even find some of the granddaughters working on special occasions.

Two other full time employees, Judith, and our goldsmith David, have both been on staff for many years.

Roy's prides itself on providing friendly hometown service in a relaxed, comfortable setting.
